BSA Troop 118 meets on Tuesdays regularly at Lakeview School, Denville N.J.  Meetings Start 7:30 pm the first three Tuesdays of the month. The last Tuesday is reserved for PLC and Committee Meetings.

Troop 118 was chartered in 1955 thanks to the American Legion Post 390 Denville, NJ.   Although the Troop has been sponsored by various organizations over the years, it remains committed to the ideals set forth by Baden-Powell. Our current sponsor is Norman Dean Home for Services. The Dean family has remained an essential part of the Troop and community through 2 generations.

Troop 118 is an avid supporter of community service dedicated to the personal and outdoor development of its Scouts. We are a “camping” troop that spends at least 1 weekend a month enjoying the great outdoors. This includes an annual family camping event where parents, family, friends, and Scouts get to know each other and share their Scouting knowledge. The Troop has been involved in Philmont Scout Ranch, National Jamboree, Florida Sea Base, as well as many in-state and out-of-state events.

We have been known as “F Troop” for our ability to remain a leader in having fun while living the Scout Law and to live life by the Scout Oath, Motto, and Slogan by learning and sharing. The Troop is financially independent due to revenue generated by annual fundraising events such as food concessions and holiday flower sales.

Troop 118 has grasped the concept of a “boy run” organization. This is accomplished by their ability to manage Troop meetings and Patrol Leader meetings. Yearly events are selected and planned by the Scouts with assistance from the adult leaders when required.

The recipe for success for this Troop is solid Scouting skills handed down since 1955, exceptional Scout abilities, fine leadership, and parental involvement. We are proud of the many years of excellent Scouting experience provided to the hundreds of young men who have been members of Troop 118. Ours continues to be a tradition of excellence and achievement.
