Henry W. Peacock had a long distinguished career as a painter who explored his
own vision on canvas. He left behind traditional conventions and found his own truth in the colors and shapes he created on
his large abstracts.
He also was an avid sailor, and designed a racing boat, "Ovation", which would
go on to win the Maryland Governors Cup race in 1992.
He made a decision not to compromise his work, and the beauty and uniqueness of
his paintings mirror his dedication and the integrity of his lifes work.
He lived right on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Rock Hall
for over 25 years, and took his art students on summer trips to Maine as well.
Mr Peacocks book, "Art as Expression", was published in 1995, and is considered a must reference book for aspiring painters
who want to take their own creative path without compromise.
His paintings and drawings are featured in many museums and private collections
across the country.
His limited edition print, "The Net Hauler", is available here. It is the
last of a series that was centered around the lives of the many watermen who make their rugged living on the Chesapeake, for most
a long held family tradition and livelihood.
"Chesapeake Sunset" is a song I've dedicated to him on my music link.
