The Nigeria Model Awards aims to give young Nigerian girls the opportunity of positively
using their natural endowment in building careers as models in the international modelling industry.
The Nigerian Model
Awards undertakes a model search in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar & Benin from where prospective girls are selected
for the grand gala event. The Grand Gala event usually comes up in Lagos.
The eventual winner represents Nigeria at
the Ford Supermodel of the World contest in New York.
The Ford Supermodel of the world contest is the biggest models
contest in the world. They are the initiators of the Supermodel status in the world modelling industry. Supermodels like Naomi
Campbell, Alek Wek, Kate Moss, Imam, Oluchi etc have all attained fame and fortune through Ford Models.

2005-HILDA NEVOH
- Hilda was picked by head scout of Ford Super Model, Robert Knapp who flew in from New York
days before.
- She went ahead to represent Nigeria at the world finals of the Ford Supermodel of the World contest which
took place on the 18th of January 2006 in New York City. She now relocates to New York where she got signed on by Icon Model
Management.
2004 -Adebisi Sowemimo.
The winner of the 2004 event was Adebisi Sowemimo.
She represented Nigeria at the world finals of the Fashion TV Model Awards in Cannes and Monte Carlo from where she won a
modelling contract. She worked in Paris for a while with Click Model Management. Presently, she is based in Johannesburg South
Africa where she works professionally as a Model. She is attached to Ice Model Management.
