The Products

As a housekeeper, the products used are extremely important to the services I provide.

I prefer to use non-toxic products whenever possible. I do however stock some chemicals just in case a stain is stubborn and needs something extra strength. These are only used when necessary; or as dictated by a client.

House cleaning is a very customized and personal service. For this reason the client always has the ultimate say in what products are used in their home. I can either bring particular products to the home, or clients are welcome to provide their own.

I am also proud to announce we began using industrial/commercial tools. This is a little more overhead for me, but saves time and ultimately saves you money.

Ask me about custom mixed aromatherapy cleanings! I have my favorite and seasonal blends, but I have a large inventory of essential oils which can be used to scent your home how you wish.

Castile Soap

Castile Soap is a primary ingredient in many of my cleaning products. It is tough on stains and I have even found it more powerful than some of the harsher products on the market. I stock both Peppermint and Lavender Castile soaps and use both frequently.
The Castile Soaps are mixed with water, baking soda, pure essential oils and sometimes vinegar to make cleaners targeted at specific jobs.
Vinegar and the essential oils I add to the cleaners are natural, powerful disinfectants.

What the client provides

For the sake of mobility, I prefer to use the client's broom and vaccum. However these can certainly be brought along at no extra cost. My vaccum is a Dyson DC14. I also bring a small canister Riccar for the light work.

I also do not provide toilet brushes. If a client does not have one I will scrub the toilet with scouring pads and dispose of them afterwards.

Clients often prefer specific products to be used in their homes. In such a case, this is of course acceptable. Most clients will then leave the products in plain sight, or leave a note as to where they are located.

Vinegar and Baking Soda
The wonder products!

For windows and glass, I have found nothing as powerful and effective as vinegar. For a streak-free shine, nothing beats the simple stuff.
Sometimes glass may have a build-up left behind by windex. In such situations I have a special formula to use to cut through the residue.
The smell only lingers a few minutes as the glass dries, and I have never had a complaint about the vinegar smell. I have also found I really like mixing a little buit of organic mint essential oil in the cleaner for a little added bonus.
However, if a client has an adversion to the smell of vinegar, I can certainly use standard enviromentally friendly glass cleaner.
