I was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and lived in Linden, New Jersey. I attended Linden High School
and played varsity football for 3 years graduating in 1968.I had hopes of obtaining a football scholarship to college, but
an injury to my my right knee put an end to that dream. So at the age of 19 I enlisted in the Navy and
was stationed in Charleston South Carolina aboard a Destroyer escort the USS Blakely DE- 1072 for 3 years, which included
a tour in Vietnam in the Tonkin Gulf, then The USS Alamogordo for 2 years in Charleston where we drydocked nuclear subarines, and
Naval Station at Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico,where I was the bachelor enlisted quarters manager for the last 3 years
of my enlistment. In all, I spent 9 years in the US Navy. I have a brother Tony who is 3 years younger
then myself. I now reside in Manahawkin New Jersey in an small community with my wife Sharon, and just enjoying
life.
