OUR UNION'S PURPOSE

The purpose of Local 747 is to maintain and promote a harmonious relationship between the Union and the Employer, and to establish equitable and peaceful procedures for the resolution of differences, and the continuation of an effective and progressive effort to serve the citizens of Bellingham, Massachusetts.

OUR UNION'S MISSION

The mission of Local 747 is to act as the sole and exclusive Collective Bargaining Agent for the purpose of establishing wages, hours, standards of productivity and performance, and all other conditions of employment for members of our three bargaining units:

OUR CONSTITUTION

Our Constitution was last amended in 1985.  In order to amend, revise, or otherwise change our Constitution requires a majority vote of the members, voting on any proposed change, and such change is only effective only upon written approval of the International President.  Proposed amendments to our Constitution must be read at a regular or special meeting of the Local, and read and voted on at a subsequent meeting.  The membership must be provided with adequate and proper notice prior of the date on which a vote to amend our Constitution is to be taken.  A written copy of any proposed amendment must be furnished to every eligible voter in attendance at the meeting at which a vote to amend our Constitution is taken.
