Hello, Old Friend
As many of you know, I sold nearly my entire T206 set in 2007.  In the mega-sale, on December 23, 2007, I sold my T206 Ossee Schreck SGC 60 on ebay.  It was a card that I had for 6+ years.  It came in a group of raw cards and then I had it graded.  Interestingly, it has a wet sheet transfer of Hayden's name and team (Indianapolis) on the bottom of the reverse.  When I sold it, I thought it was a selling point for the card.  Apparently not -- it only sold for $77.00.  Oh well.
But last night, I found the same card on ebay -- my Schreck!  So, I sniped it -- for $75.77.  So I even made $1.23.  Ha!

You can see the Schreck in my T206 Card Gallery.

100 Year Anniversary of Fred Merkle's Bonehead Play
Amazing, or at least coincidental, that on the 100 year anniversary of Fred Merkle's infamous blunder against the Cubs that the Cubs are playoff bound hopefuls of winning the World Series for the first time in 100 years.  Read all about it here:

While I do not have any Fred Merkle T206 cards these days, I have a number of Al Bridwell's cards -- autographed versions of his T205 and T206 cards.  Why is Bridwell significant on this date?  He hit the single that "scored" McCormick from third and set Merkle running for the clubhouse instead of to second base.  Bridwell later told Larry Ritter that getting a hit in that game was his only regret in baseball: “I wish I’d struck out instead,” he said. “If I’d have done that, then it would have spared Fred a lot of unfair humiliation.”  Bridwell also pointed out that he "[d]idn’t get credit for that base hit. They decided it was a forceout at second, instead of a single. Well, what can you do? Those things happen.”

Lionel Carter T206 Cards
Sad, ironic, coincidental... two days after I picked up another 5 Lionel Carter T206 cards, Mr. Carter passes away at the age of 90.  I hope to continue to build upon his collection, in some minor way.  The five cards I picked up are really nice.  I'll be showcasing them on my website in the coming days and weeks...
