Why the Asphalt Apostles
Why the Asphalt Apostles? Does it matter what patch or ministry one belongs to? When I think of this,
I think of Paul when he wrote the Corinthians and corrected the error they had when making an issue about
who they were of, some said "I am of Paul, I am of Apollo". It was not any man or ministry, but the Lord
Jesus Christ who is the one we need for our primary identity. I also thought about in Romans where Paul said the creation
speaks of the existence of God. Does a beautiful mountain, or a winding creek, or the
stars of heaven have any more claim to the witness of God than the other? One may appeal and speak louder
to someone than the other, but they are all used of God for His Glory. To me, any ministry, any Christian
M/C club, or any ministry at all for that matter should not get hung up on the pride of that particular ministry. It is true,
there may be more effective ministries than others. We have our preferences due to personalities or friendships. There may be specific callings for specific people groups.
Our focus should not be on ourselves, but on the Lord Jesus Christ and the winning of souls for His Kingdom. In saying
that, then I guess our choosing of a ministry would fall into our calling, our desire for service, and then our ability to
walk with the vision of that ministry. What is the vision, the purpose, the hearts desire of the members, etc. Amos 3:3 says
that "Can two walk together unless they be agreed" ? I believe if the criteria I mentioned applies then
we can determine by prayer this is the way to walk, then you have found your ministry. I guess none of us will ever be
in complete agreement on everything until we all have perfect unity in the Faith, but we strive for that unity to please our
God while we walk this earth. Our ability to function as a ministry with little conflict is one of the things that appeals
to me. We have no officers, no board. We are open with all members and believe in the priesthood of
all believers. Leadership comes by function and maturity in the body, not by title. We strive
for unity in any decisions we may have to make. Our purpose is to reach everyone for the glory of
God. Motorcycles and our patches are only tools for the Kingdom and not an end
to themselves. We may use motorcycles, but we are not limited to any one group of people. We desire to see all people
from all walks of life come to Christ. Bikers, the young, old, whosoever - everyone has the need and
potential for salvation in Christ. Paul said he became all things to all people so that he may win some. I believe in that position and we are in agreement with that philosophy as
a ministry. So that is my "blog" contribution and my thoughts on the Asphalt Apostles. My hearts
desire is for the Lord to have His way, by His Spirit not only in our ministry, but in all ministries who claim
the name of Jesus Christ. To Him be all honor and glory. (Many times in spite of our mistakes and short comings!) God
Bless, Bob

Asphalt Meeting 5/26/07
We had the meeting last night at Rick and Brenda's, I came right from work, as I walked up the driveway everyone was
there, and I saw Sammy! Sammy is one of the "founders" of the Asphalts. This has been the first meeting
that he has been at since we've "formed" and got our colors. There are reasons, but, that's Sammy's story.
When Sammy talked, I found myself grasping on every word that he spoke. We all gathered and prayed over Sammy,
and Sandy had a special prayer for him, which was AWESOME!
Then closing in pray, I blurted what was stirring in my heart, that Father G-d is saying, "Sammy, like it or not, you
are the Father of this group"
That is still stirring in me today too....
And Sandy..... What a Blessing you are to us!
G-d is soooooooooo Cool!

Why the Asphalt Apostles for me....
Ok, why did I join the Asphalt Apostles?
I love to ride and so does my husband, and it's something that we love to do together, at church my husband was approached
to be one of the first members of the Asphalt Apostles, he started going to their meetings and the Bible study, then they
approached me about joining. "I'd love to" but, I personally can't ware the colors. Why you might ask, they are
beautiful. And they are, but, it has to do with The Calling that G-d put in my life.
I've been called to be a voice piece to the Jewish people, and to the Gentiles to share the roots of our faith.
I'm here to tell the Jewish people that we are one in the same, we have the same Father G-d, and that I have their Messiah
in my heart. After doing much research I found the way to start up conversations with my Jewish brethren is to not ware
a "cross" but to ware a Star of David.
To the Christian Brother, you might think I'm whacked, and not thankful for the "cross" but, I tell you I am thankful,
and I thank Jesus (Yeshua =Jesus in Hebrew) everyday for dying on the cross for me.
I have started up many a conversation with Jewish people because of my "Star of David" Why a Gentile with a Star
of David on her bike, I've heard from more than one Jewish person, "Are you crazy? You could get killed for having
that on your bike!" My reply, "I really don't care". My husband has seen first hand how I can minister to a Jewish
person because of the star on my bike, I even asked someone, would we be having this conversation if you had seen a "cross"
on my back. the answer was "no"
So that is a bit of my reasoning. Now, The Asphalts can't figure me out, they want me to ware their colors.....
Um, no offense, but, because of my calling, "No" "I can't" The front patch is OK, it's a throttle with Ps 45:4 on it, I can
do that, but, not the back patch. I have my own back patch.... "Daughter of Zion" But, to be an Asphalt,
you have to have the back patch...
So one day at an Asphalt Apostle meeting, during prayer, I was asked if I would ware the front patch, and become
a member of the Asphalts, and even though I don't have the "cross" back patch, I will be a full member of the Asphalts, I
agree, and that is how I became a member of the Asphalt Apostles.
Sometimes we put G-d in a box, which also puts man in a box. G-d is so huge! His calling is not the same for everyone.
There are many people that make up the body of Messiah, we are not all hands, not all feet, not all arms, if we were all hands
then we would be incomplete, but, we are His hands, feet, legs, and arms making up His body, His body to minister to
All peoples, not just one type of person, but, to reach the World with His message, and it takes all of us, in all of our
gifts, and callings to work together for the purpose of ONE..... It's all About HIM, not about US.....
Thank you Asphalt Apostles for getting out of the BOX and letting G-d Be G-d, so He can do His thing Though US!
How cool is that?????
