Mr. Mike and his Double Puminary Embolism

11-5-07

Well those of you that know me know that I have a wonderful husband....   Mr. Mike.  I almost lost him.   Last Monday he had a double pulmonary embolism.  (Blood clots in his lungs.)  These we not just any blood clots, they were/are huge blood clots.  the one on the one side is the size of a kielbasa, the other side like a hot dog, we think he just swallowed them, but, all joking aside.  I'm blessed to still have him with us.   I changed my song on my page to Holy G-d, they played it at church yesterday, as I was standing next to the love of my life, and I was Thanking G-d and praising Him for giving Mike and I a second chance, realizing that yes, He is a Holy G-d!!! part of the lyric is about restoration...   G-d totally restored Mike, all his 's are perfect, his lungs are perfect, cholesterol perfect, liver perfect!!!!

I've been emailing everyone the updates on Mike, I was spending all my time at the hospital, and email was the best way I could keep everyone updated.  My brother suggested that I combine all the emails in a blog, so here it is.....

Actually these are from the VolusiaRiders site, I will enter the emails later, they are on my lap top......

Where to start.

Wednesday he had to stop 3 times and rest (he was all out of breath) while mowing the back yard, never had to do that before

Friday he had an episode at work, hard to breath, chest pains, and light headed, and vision trouble,

He took it easy all weekend, and took off today thank G-d because he had another episode, scared the crap out of me, I told him that no matter what he wanted I was calling the Dr. he said OK, which I knew he was not feeling good because he always puts up a fight about the Dr....

We ended up calling an ambulance, and they rushed him to the hospital, we were thinking it was heart attack, but thank G-d that the Dr, had the wisdom to do a cat scan on him, which showed that he has Huge Pulmonary embolisms in both of his lungs.

So please keep him in your prayers....

Dr said that someone must be watching out for him because it could have resulted in death, because the embolisms are so big.....

Thanks.....

Thanks all.... Mike is doing really good, he had surgery today, they put in a filter, he had another clot behind his knee, and the filter will stop it from traveling to his lungs. A Dr. came in and told him the size of the embolisms, the small one is the size of a nickel and about 3 inches long, the other one is about the size of a quarter and about 7 inches long, he is very lucky to be alive.

So now we have to figure out what is causing the clots

Thank you all for the prayers

Last night I got to pray with a girl that was really upset, , and I was watching everything from Mikes room (when I had to step out so he could pee pee) and I knew something was up, because the whole family was there, and no one was looking too happy, I was leaving last night and I saw one of the girls from the room crying in the arms of a man in the lobby.... I just walked up and started praying on her, it was her father she told me they were unplugging the respirator at 9pm .... As I walked away from her to my car, I looked at my cell phone and it was 8:57 It's so sad, but, I hope that my prayer was able to comfort her............ There are reasons for everything.... G-d puts us in places then works though us, and I know that this was one of those times.....

Update 11/7/07

Once again another Dr came into his room, and said, "I just read your chart before coming in the room, and here is a man playing tricks on people and goofing around, God has been good to you"

What happened to Mike could have killed him, and he is doing great, and acting like a little kid, and playing games with all the equipment that he is hooked up to, (the nurses are getting a good kick out of him too, I'm thinking they are enjoying it so much because death is pretty much all around them in the CCU)

I just thank G-d for giving us a second chance at life together.

Oh, the nurse brought him in all his 's for his cholesterol, they are all perfect....... I'm shaking my head because it's just not fair, those that know Mike, know he doesn't eat very healthy..... but, he is text book..... Praise G-d once again. His lungs are clear, heart is great, everything is working perfect.

They are just trying to figure out the "Source" of the clots, and that is what we are praying for.......

He is on blood thinners, and that will not so much dissolve the clots, but will let the blood pass by it easily, and that will help break up the clots, and they will dissolve by themselves, that will take a couple of weeks. He will be getting out of the Hospital by Friday or Saturday, and will be going back to work on the 21st of November.

We really appreciate all the prayers and warm thoughts.

I'm here to tell you that prayer works.... G-d is a G-d of new beginnings and restoration

Oh yeah, Mike quit smoking.....

Thanks for everything..... Sister Mooo

Yesterday they moved Mike out of CCU into a room!!!!!!! he is in 739. Mercy Hosptal South Buffalo. He is doing very good still driving the nurses nuts and getting a little more anal.

Once again a Heart Surgeon came in and told Mike that his clot on the one side is the size of a Kielbasa, not a Ted's Hot Dog.... Makes since he's Polish. The Surgeon said the only people that he has seen with a clot that big were dead, Once again telling us that Mike is a Living Miracle! Thank You G-d!!!!!!! We Praise you and Worship You and Give You all the Glory!!!!!

I went back to work yesterday for a few hours, then went back to the hospital, I've pretty much been living there and coming home to sleep. I don't think I want a Subway Sub for a good year after this ordeal is over...., but, I'm glad there is a Subway Subs in the Hospital, so I'm not stuck with hospital food.

They are still trying to get the Cumidum 's leveled out (blood thinner), they need him stable on that for 48 hours then he can come home. So we are Praying for Saturday, but, that is up in the air. They might be doing another CT Scan today to see the progress of the clots, this will make the Heart Surgeon happy so he can see that they are dissolving nicely by themselves.

And remember if you visit Mike, you not only will get to hear the stories of him driving the CCU nurses crazy, you will get your very own pair of Latex powdered gloves!!!!! (with each visit!)

keep the prayers coming!!!!!
