The major am dial Top 40 Stations in Boston during the 1960s were WBZ and WMEX. In October 1966 WRKO took
over WNAC and started Boston's first radio station with no DJs, no news and no commercials (wrko-fm at 98.5) fr 6 months.
Featured in the sound clip is the automated voice of robot Arkomatic. WRKO began it's AM broadcast in March 1967, taking
over as Boston's most popular T40 station. WMEX remains the best in my book.
