The Fall Overnight: Sept. 10/11

The weather was dry for a change, the temperatures were warm enough for most of the kids to want to swim, and those who woke up about 3:00 am saw some beautiful views of the night sky, detected constellations, and even saw a "shooting star" or two. They ate an amazing amount of food, said "please" and "thank-you" frequently, and loved the opportunity to roam an enormous wooded space. We made the looms for our weaving project, and any number of kids learned to whittle safely (well, a few minor cuts) and to better handle a drill. Thanks to all of the parents who drove and helped!
