A More Excellent Way is a joint ministry of Ed Miller and Tom Wontrop. It is our prayer that God's people may progressively enjoy an intimate union with the Lord Jesus, through the study of the Bible.

• We know that Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice when he offered the blood of the substitute lamb, which pictured the precious blood of our Lord Jesus, than the works of the flesh that his brother Cain offered (Hebrews 11:4).
•  We know our Lord Jesus was given a more excellent name than all the angels in Heaven (Hebrews 1:4).
• We know our Lord Jesus has a more excellent ministry in His present exaltation at the right hand of the Majesty in the heavens as the Mediator of the New Covenant than the ministry of the law which only could only bring condemnation (Hebrews 8:1).
• We know as Christians that we are called to approve those things that are more excellent (Philippians 1:10).
• And we know that the apostle Paul called “the fruit of the Spirit” a more excellent way than “the gifts of the Spirit” (I Corinthians 12:31)

The more excellent way is a Person; it is the Lord Jesus we pursue; we desire to know the One who called Himself "The Way." In a day when many hearts seem satisfied to pursue the glorious results of intimate union with Jesus, we prefer to focus rather on the Lord Himself, to whom we are united. Christ must be all; He is central! Heaven itself would not be Heaven if the Lamb were not in the center. As the oak is the product of the acorn; the river is the fullness of the fountain; the adult is the development of the child, even so Christ is the living source of all fruit and character in the Christian. We are convinced that, by looking in simple faith to Jesus alone, as His glory fills the temple it will automatically fall in a transfiguring light on every part and corner of His temple. While others establish spiritual disciplines as conditions to know the Lord more intimately, we believe spiritual disciplines are the spontaneous fruit of intimate union with Him. We refuse to chase after the outworkings of redemption. Our hearts are set on knowing Him! That is the more excellent way!
