On the Home Front:
The House
We spent
most of the holiday weekend going through old stuff in the kitchen to
donate to Goodwill. We also took the opportunity to move around
the living room furniture. I downloaded a CAD program to give me a
1:20th scale model of our living room and all of the furniture. I
did this because I wanted to see if the ideas I had would work without
going through the trouble of actually moving anything. Once Chris
and I settle on a good arrangement, we decided to follow through and
rearrange. We found that we were able to fit more furniture in the
room. Even after moving another chair in, we still had extra room.
The new room arrangement gave the dogs a great perch next to the
windows. We'll have to work out the dynamics of how to open the
windows without Harry going through them. We may have to invest in
some Kevlar screens.
Under the Knife (Part III)
Harry gets his stitches out on Monday. He
recovered from the surgery OK but he did worry us for a while. I'd
say it took him about a week to get back to his old self. His hair
is growing back rather quickly.
On the Work Front:
Chris is now in the middle of of his summer semester.
Aside from a meeting, the week will be biz as usual.
We will be doing our annual lab clean up this week.
We recently got two new freezers, a plate washer and a new
incubator/shaker. We'll need to move stuff around and find room
for supplies. We had some money that needed to be spent by a
certain time and we used it to buy what seems like a years worth of
stuff in addition to the new equipment.
