Ballroom position, M facing out of circle, W facing in(traveling CCW)
M weight on R foot, stamping on L foot W weight on R foot, stamping on L foot
,
Feet make a “T”: heel of stamping foot at arch of weighted foot.
Stamp 4x, bending weighted knee to bring other foot
to floor.
Part 1b (4m.)
7 quickstep-togethers,
starting M, L; W, R; CCW
On 8th beat, small jump on both feet, with feet together, parallel.
Part 1 (8m.) repeats , CW, with opposite footwork.
Joined hands are raised.
Part 2 (16m.)
In Shoulder(W)/Shoulder blade(M) hold:
Run, couple rotates, kicking heels high in
back, posture upright 15 steps.
On 16th beat, jump on both feet.
Repeat in opposite direction
Part 3 (16m.)
W: individual turns, hands on hips, starting on R, R shoulder back,
CCW:
Off beat polka step: step, step-together (1/4, 1/8, 1/8)
M: stamps
Footwork:
unweighted stamp L foot in front
of R, pointing at 45 degree angle to R
weighted stamp L foot, pointing at 45 degree angle to L
unweighted stamp R foot
in beside L foot, pointing at 45 degree angle to L
weighted stamp R foot, pointing at 45 degree angle to R
Repeat, but now that R foot is already at
an angle, the unweighted stamp is beside R foot
In 8 measures, 16 stamps, total, knees bent, throughout, advancing forward.
Arms: Held out wide to sides, “as if
he’d like to grab his partner who flees before him”
(I’ve always seen this done with a horizontal clap on the first beat of measures 1
and 5, but that is not described in the cited reference. Perhaps a stage/choreographic element?)
Part 4 (16m.)
Everyone joins one large circle with same running step as in Part 2.
