I wanted to write a message to the members of Operation Breathe Easy and all those of you who have helped me in the past
two years, but I am finding it difficult to do without being overly dramatic or emotional. To have gone from self sufficient
and healthy to being unemployed, dependant on oxygen, and unable to walk even short distances has of course been a big adjustment
in my life. I find myself leaning more and more on the help of others (especially my wife Cathy) and I wanted to thank you
all for what you have done (and continue to do) for me. I made a comment to one of my doctors about friendships during chronic
illness and he told me that for every person who stands by you 10 will stop coming around. Well that shows you who your real
friends are. I can never repay any of you in any meaningful way but if my prayers are answered, your kindness and generosity
will be returned to you over and over again plus interest. Thank you. Tom
