Welcome to the 2009 Swim Team!

WELCOME

Welcome to the Walton Lake Swim Team!  We are happy to have your family as a part of our organization and your swimmer as a member of our team.  We have developed this website to provide both swimmers and parents with information that will familiarize you with the team, the coaches, the swimming program and swim team procedures as well as provide you with a place for upcoming events, news, meets and results.

It takes a tremendous amount of time and dedication from the swimmers and parents to make a swim team successful.  This dedication has enabled Walton Lake to continue its swim team throughout the years.

We look forward to a fun and exciting 2009 season for both swimmers and parents!

White Sharks End Season at 1-5

Swimming probably their best overall meet, the White Sharks closed out the 2009 season with a 1270-1126 loss to neighboring Queensmill.  Enthusiastic from the Team Picture to the caravan parade, the team swam very hard and amassed their highest total points of the season.  Andy Branin, back from injury, picked up where he left off by lowering his own Junior 50M Free (27.82) and 50M Fly (31.99) records while Alexis Nardo finished off her summer season career by adding one more senior girls record in the 50M Fly (33.82).

CHAMPS is on Friday and Saturday July 24 and 25.  Please try to attend if you qualified and even if you did not you may still swim in relays plus one other event!  We need everyone!

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.

White Sharks Lose Close One

The White Sharks swam very well but lost a tight meet to The Highlands 1143.5-995.5.  Still outmanned by about 20 swimmers, the team held tough for the entire night before taking the loss.  Next week's meet will be another tough meet but should be fun vs our neighbors at Queensmill.  Please make sure you are at our pool before 4:00 pm for the Team Picture, then participate in the caravan over to the Queensmill pool!!

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.

White Sharks Lose Another

The White Sharks were again vastly outnumbered on Tuesday night by a very good Salibury team and suffered it largest loss of the season 1735-781.  Salisbury's team size of nearly three times the number of swimmers was impossible to beat despite continued strong showings from all of the team.

Next week's meet will be another good chance for victory and we will need all of the team to show for a strong effort!

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.

White Sharks Take First Win!

The White Sharks finally met a team of similar size in the A Division and was able to let their quality swimmers shine through as they recorded their first win of the season, a 1100-915 victory over Beulah.   The team continued to show improvement as they recorded only 10 total DQs out of 221 swims.  Additionally, 53 of the 81 swimmers recorded another 85 improved times!   Alexis Nardo broke her own 100m Senior IM record with a time of 1:19.56.  Congratulations to all the White Sharks on a job well done!

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.

White Sharks Defeated Again
Andy Branin Sets New League Record!

The Walton Lake White Shark swim team continued its tough Division A schedule with a 1332-708 loss to Woodland Pond.   Casey Branin and Andy Branin each broke two team records.  Casey broke his brother's records in the 7-8 25m Back (21.18) and in the 8 and Under 25m Fly (19.92).  Not to be outdone, Andy broke the 11-12 50m Breaststroke record (34.98) and in doing so, also set a new LEAGUE RECORD! All of our swimmers did a temendous job as 50 of the 67 swimmers accumulated 94 improved times!

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.

White Sharks Defeated

The Walton Lake White Shark swim team opened its 2009 season with a tough loss to Hampton Park 1516-681.  Despite being out numbered in swimmers by a whopping margin of 3-1, the team faired well with many outstanding efforts from all swimmers.  Andy Branin broke three team records.  He lowered his own 11-12 50m Free record to 28.02 while erasing two of the oldest records on the books in the 50m Breaststroke (35.63) and 50m Butterfly (32.80) previously set in 1996 by Kirk Dewey!

All of our swimmers did a temendous job as 48 swimmers accumulated 98 improved times!  In addition, of the 171 events swam we totalled only 9 DQ's...Not bad for a first time out!

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.

MOCK MEET

Thanks to all for a great start with our mock meet this morning.  We were done in record time thanks to everyone's coordinated efforts.

PLEASE PLEASE remember - it is critically important if your swimmer is not going to be at a meet that you either sign the sheet at the pool or let me know - we need to have accurate records for our meet seating.

The results can be found on the Meets/Results page.
