Volunteer Positions

As all of you know, the success that we experience is a direct result of not only our swimmers, but also our parents.  The team depends on the cooperation and participation of all parents in staging a meet.  Putting together a swim meet is a team effort, and we need everyone’s help.  Here is a list of the volunteer positions that must be filled in order to hold a swim meet.

Meet Director

Provides overall meet coordination and control.

Starter

Controls the start of each heat during the meet.

Announcer

Broadcasts meet results and general information to the audience during the meet.

Strokes & Turns Judge

Sets up and runs the computerized timing system for the meet.

Timer

Uses stopwatches and timing buttons to record swimmers’ times.

Clerk of Course

Concession Worker

Helps set up, staff and take down the concession stand for each meet.
