The New Suitland Community Center
5600 Regency Lane

The new Suitland Community Center, located on 5600 Regency Lane is connected to Samuel P. Massie Elementary School. Suitland offers special events, workshops, drop-in programs, and before and after childcare. This facility is complete with a state-of-the-art fitness room, gymnasium, outdoor baseketball and tennis courts, and a large playground area. In addition, the center is equipped with game, computer, science, and art rooms. The center participates in the Xtreme Teens program every Friday and Saturday night from 7-10 pm. Other ammenities include a kitchen, multi-purpose room, and a conference room. A unique partnership with the Board of Education allows Suitland Community Center to better serve the entire community. Location/Directions - Located on Regency Lane in Forestville, Maryland.

From I-95 South, take exit 9A towards Andrews Air Force Base. Turn left onto Allentown Road. Turn left onto Suitland Road. Turn right onto Regency Parkway and then left onto Regency Lane. The parking lot and building are on the right.
From I-95 North, take exit 9A towards Andrews Air Force Base. At the stop sign, make a left. At the first light, make a left onto Suitland Parkway. Turn left onto Suitland Road. Turn right onto Regency Parkway and then left onto Regency Lane. The parking lot and building are on the right.
From Silver Hill Road, take Suitland Road. Turn left onto Regency Parkway and then left onto Regency Lane. The parking lot and building are on the right.

Christmas Homeless Drive

Support our area needy.  Suitland Community Center will be collecting new hats, scarves, and gloves to help keep our homeless warm during the winter season.  All donations will be delivered to area homeless shelters.

Café Groove

Café Groove is coming to Suitland Community Center.  This event will feature a mix of performing and visual arts including poetry reading, music, dance, theatre and an art show by local high school art students.  Guest emcees, opening and closing acts, open mic and visual art contest with cash prizes.

Celebrate the holiday season, by traveling to the North Pole to visit Winter Wonderland Amusements, the Elf’s Craft House, Ms. Claus’s Kitchen. Bring your child to enjoy a visit with Santa and an early Christmas present.  There will be fun around each corner.

Youth Art Contest Details:

Youth 4th – 7th grades are eligible to participate in the 1st Youth Artistic Expression Contest.

Youth are to paint or draw a piece of art expressing their view of the theme:

“STOP THE VIOLENCE THROUGH PEACE, HEALING & EMPOWERMENT”

Artistic works must be brought to the Suitlandfestival by 12 noon thru 12:30 pm.

Art will be displayed until 2:30pm. The attendees will be able to view and cast ballots for the work of art they like best. At 3:00 all ballots will be counted and the name of the youth with the most votes will be announced from the Main Stage at which time the winner will be presented with their gift. Winner will also have their work of art displayed on the official website of the Suitlandfest CDC 501c3, be interviewed and have their work of art aired on our youth TV Show “FRESH TV” and other great awards for their accomplishment.

Remember the winner is determined by the most votes, so we encourage all contestants to bring out all of their friends and family to support their works of art.

  • Defining Leadership in the Prince George’s County school system
  • Access to information: the budget, grants, contracts, policies and procedures, test scores, etc.
  • Engaging Parents and Community: resources, communications, programs and activities, school web sites
  • Business/School Partnerships – how can this be improved?
  • How does the school system define highly qualified teachers?

We aer currently seeking any administrators from the school system who can serve on some of the panels?
