From: Joe Lyons To: Walter Tien Could you guys let people know about the other interviewers site, or link to it, so people can see all of the questions and answers? You don't have to, but it might be cool. The 10 people involved are Monice Hubinette, Steve Panhorst, *bree*(I can't believe I put those * things in there!!), Walter Tien, Heather toadyfrog, Darren Phaneuf, Rob Holloway, John LaLande, Graham Mills, and Michael Travers(offy). 1. I always get asked what guitar/bass equipment you guys use. Do you have a typical setup you use on the road and in the studio? A) Well, on the first 3 records I mostly played a strat through a Vox AC30. >From Dulcinea on I played a Gibson Les Paul junior through a Matchless DC30 amp. And lately in the studio I have been experimenting with digital simulated amps such as the POD from Line 6. As for Dean, most of the time he has played either a Warwick thumb bass or a Fender Precision bass through an SWR amplifier and speaker system. 2. How much time do you spend looking at Toad Internet fan sites? A) I have sneaked on to the Toad web sites from time to time to check things out, see what we are up to and where we are going. I think it's really cool that there are some really good sites out there. 3. The live "Real Audio" show you guys did on the internet was pretty cool. Are there any plans to do it again once your new band gets going? A) Definitely-we love to play over the internet to fans just sitting at home in their pajamas. 4. What do you like to do when you aren't involved with music? A) Lately I have been doing a lot of snowboarding. Usually I go to Mammoth mountain in the California Sierras, but just the other day Chris Blake and I went to Telluride Colorado and had a blast heli-boarding in the backcountry. Also Dean and I have been playing a lot of golf when we're not working on new songs. 5. With all the albums Toad has put out over the years, what would each of you consider to be your favorite Toad song and why? A) That's obviously a tough question because it changes all the time. "Way Away" from Bread and Circus has always made me feel good even though it is about a funeral, and "Crazy Life" has been a favorite because it was always fun to play live and I liked Glen's guitar solo at the end. Dean says his favorites are "Butterflies", "Walk on the Ocean", and "Don't go Away". Oh, and then there's "Little Heaven" "Fall Down", and "Janitor". Oh, and of course, our cover of "Rock and Roll All Night". -jl >-----Original Message----- >From: joe lyons >Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 1999 11:12 PM >Subject: TTWS > > >Hi There, > Whats up? The ball is rolling, so >email me your questions in the next 2 or 3 days or so, and the guys will >answer them, and I'll send you back their answers.
