Woodrow Wilson Bridge

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge (Washington DC Beltway — I-495/I-95), crosses the Potomac River between Virginia and Maryland a few miles south of the District of Columbia. The new bridge opened in the Spring of 2009. The bridge and the approach from Route 1 in Virginia have wide bike/pedestrian paths which did not exist on the old bridge. Thus, it is possible for Alexandria residents to walk over the river to Maryland and the new National Harbor and Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.
