We? There is no we, just me, my trombone and my computer. I taught band for twelve years at an elite, K9 independent school in New England, and am now taking time off to work on this.stuff, perform, and start a family (in reverse order). It all started in a small college town on the east coast seriously, I am influenced by studying performance at the University of Delaware and the New England Conservatory, and being schooled in Music Learning Theory at the Hartt School of Music my success as an educator comes.from:
sensitivity to individual learning styles;
sensitivity to individual instruments;
belief that all musics were created equal and interest in sharing that belief with students, as in performing and listening to world.music;
belief that children learn music best by listening to and imitating characteristic tones and styles. I believe band directors should perform live for their students as much as.possible.
using appropriate humor, early and often
