This cemetery is owned by the Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church of Vintondale. The Sts. Peter and Paul church was originally built in Wehrum about 1902-1904. After the mines were closed and the town was abandoned, the church acquired property in Vintondale, where a new church was constructed in 1907. The last burials appear to have been in 1927.

This listing includes both Wehrum Cemetery Tombstone Transcriptions and a
compilation from death certificates.
Headstone transcriptions were done by Mrs. Helen Balog Oravec in May 1985
through an academic excellence grant awarded to Denise Weber by the Indiana
Area School District. These transcriptions have both a Row and headstone (HS)
designation.
Row 1 is at the back of the cemetery and the translated stones will read from
left (south) to right (north).
Probable burials are compiled from death certificate registers dated
1906-1921 found in the John Huth atttic in 1982. Question marks designate
the author's inability to interpret the handwriting. Death certificates are
from residents of Jackson and Blacklick Townships only. Actual Wehrum
residents are not listed here. Any names given without an address was a
Vintondale resident. These are not complete records for those years.
These records have no Row or HS designation. An asterisk indicates that
there is a surviving cemetery marker (although surname spellings may differ).
