Kids Ask The Darndest Things About God And The Beginning
Excerpt

The Book Of The Beginning

Q: Who Created The Beginning?
A: God created the beginning. He created Heaven and Earth and everything in it. God is also the Alpha and Omega, the beginning of time and the end of time. Before him there was no other God.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 1: 1-2
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters."

Motivational Minute: Let go of your past and have a new beginning with Christ.

Q: Why do we have 7 days instead of 6 in a week?
A: God created and completed Heaven and Earth in 6 days and he rested on the 7th day after all of his work was done. So because of this, we as people have continued Gods plan of allowing ourselves to work 6 days a week and then resting as God did on the 7th day of the week.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 1:3-31, 2:2-3
"By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing: so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Motivational Minute: Let your light shine so others will see Christ in you.

Q: Was God lonely?
A: No, God was not and is not lonely. He made the first man, Adam, to work and take care of the earth and the Garden of Eden that he created.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 2:7
"The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

Motivational Minute: Love Him as thyself.

Q: Do I look like God?
A: Yes you do! God created us in his own image. Even though we can't physically see God, because he is a spirit, he created us to look like him. And when the people saw Jesus, he told them they were also seeing God.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 1: 26-27
"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness... So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

Motivational Minute: Be a light in the dark places of the world.

Q: Why did God have to use Adam's rib to make Eve?
A: After God realized he couldn't find a suitable helper for Adam in the Garden, he decided to create Eve. He used Adam's rib, because by using a part or piece of him, man and woman would become as one and would be united as husband and wife forever.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 2:21-24
"So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he bought her to the man... For this reason a man will leave his Father and Mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."

Motivational Minute: Seek is to search out and look for your help which comes from above.
