Have we invaded an ancient wonder? -----
Are we communing with an ancient wonder, or are we driving ourselves into a TOMB, and resurrecting
the dead?

This page is intended to
highlight some of the evolution of cell phone technology, a form of high-powered "RADIATION" communication.
Where did this technology come from?
It did, as so
many technologies before, come from military development. Peaceful uses, such
as space science entering consumer markets (freeze-dried foods, etc.) – these are quite friendly. Military equipment used in the hands of consumers, with little understanding, of the many destructive uses
of wireless/remove devices, preceding, has led to unprecedented security measures, being applied. As Apple Inc, is reminding us now, these devices ARE computers. Those who develop and maintain
computers regularly, would seem to be reasonable customers. But as the Thomas Edison bell phone, anyone who can pick up and
DIAL could also be a customer – it seems, NOT to be so, however.
Can cell phones
trigger avalanches? Well, it would seem, that any echo loud enough to resonate,
or vibrate water, could do so.
Those who have traveled,
far and away, might remember, a yearning for the civilization of lights, indicating that a hotel with a warm bath/SHOWER is
available, as well as a phone TO-HOME. Is there any way to be away from
civilization these days – does one have to travel as far as Africa? In some countries a cell phone is no different, perhaps than a calling card; a code to an operator, to
deliver payment for a message sent abroad, or near. Here (United
States) though, a cell phone, is a computer, or a TV set.
If {and only if} one can drive and watch TV, then one can drive safely with a cell phone, at all times.
Before you make cell phones
more important that your utility bills, or home insurance, consider this: there
have always been folks who lived in the air (pilots, astronauts, athletes), whom upon returning to Earth/ground, need to use
a phone. So, these folks, use their phones “wirelessly”. Those who service many customers, and have spent their lives on the phone, know that they tend to
use phones differently. Very sociable people, tend to use cell phones like regular
phones – devices that allow them to chat from any room in the house.
Consider, though, aggravated
use of cell phones to be cell phones that replace a personal assistant, that replace an answering service, that replace your
accountant, or even your children. Cell phones, then, are underpaid. Another potential conflict - is of memory.
Is the issue memory,
or distance? I have to confess, that recently, AND FAR TOO OFTEN, I have been confused with a cell phone. Why
does not just pushing this button work the way it is supposed to? Didn't
I just reprogram this thing -- and, no I can't hear you, you little UNDERLING !!
Cell phone
escapism. The most egregious example is walking into a bank for assistance,
and being asked to pick up the phone, to make a call. This is horrible. What about use of cell phone as radio-walkman?
My main objection is that I reminded of my highschool teachers, who were anything, but nattentive. A new generation of cell phone druggies?
-----------------------------------------------------
Consider
this option: Chanel's J12, Superleggera watch, is just $5,350. Are we deluding ourselves, on the cost of service provided
by a cell phone GPS(*) computer networking system? The high-powered world, is driven by many experts: the personal
lawyer, accountant, insurance agent for yacht, plane, car, houses, and many informationmanagers…… these have balanced the worlds of transportation, communication, and commerce. (*Global positioning system is well explained in Encyclopedia
Britannica, 2006 edition.)
Despite the association now of 9-11 with a terrorist
act, we may find out, some sooner
than later, that the best use of cellular technology, is for that HIGH emergency, just like emergency cash, life
insurance, home insurance, etc. For those who travel
to remote wildernesses, often, a cell phone is like money; it is an insurance
to survive. There are as many hazards dipping INTO THIS POT OF FUNDS, as
in any disaster relief program. This
source must be replenished, or there is no further service...
So, as we realize that so many of our basic needs are global issues, and as we
continue to push the population limits of Earth: the need to communicate from remote, and often,
secret, locations is where the cell phone technology came from. Unless
your occupation contributes to maintenance of this system, the expenses have not bourne yet, and
we will continue to pay at the expense of other NECESSITIES and
uses.
This discussion continues in 'the diatomaceous section', in
support of Global Earth.
