September 30.
A switch to HD television, and new channels of vision, occurred earlier this month, for the FIRST time in our
household. The high definition of old, was meeting people on cruiseships, and
seeing places that had only been read (OR HEARD about). There are
some amazing coverages of engineering projects: yesterday on the HD National Geographic channel, and on the HD Eiffel
channel. Today, Equator HD, on Chicago and Philadelphia, gentle skyscraping VIEWS.
A second, historically earlier, “Cometh tower,
and cometh man” (FT.com, Sept. 8 – search tower), features GUSTAV EIFFEL, preparing a presentation for
the 1889 Paris world fair. For the Disneyland savvy, it is a marvel of history,
that marvels as one is “walking” through; for others, it may be a rearrangement of history. The HD Eiffel channel (A true legend…Sept. 29 pm broadcast) featured the social objections
and technical issues of constructing the world’s first riveted iron tower, beginning with the challenges of forming
the mighty caissoned, recessed foundation. Would we not forget,
a first wireless tower, the importance of a strong foundation, “heat of” construction, lightning dangers, and
visits that attract lightning…. (gravity vs. light vs. sound ). My
September 27/8 page “Democracy’s weight load” has been moved from the navigation bar, and can be linked
through http://mysite.verizon.net/web23xz3/slyeh/id164.html.
September 28. As I have been remarking on the performance of my brother's
Windows 98SE, computer (using Internet Explorer 6), (that easiliy matches the speed of any new computer on the internet with
a very functional digital connection), I have found out there are problems with many new USB devices, as well as
printers, whose drivers fail to work on this computer.
Sept 21. A new HP pc is being tested; it is surge sensitive (needs surge protection on
power lines, including communication transmission lines), and prefers wireless USE. If you can read your email wirelessly,
while treading on a tread MILL, the DVD player will work flawlessly. I have dubbed it my "HIPPO" (HPP), or "piano" laptop
computer. Good for those with no fear of Dentists!
I am working on a "Measure for Measure",
my education in justice. As I have been contemplating a refined definition of "ILLEGAL", a traffic citation has
introduced me to New Jersey's traffic citation system, and a 2004 NJ motor vehicle law prohibiting cellphone
use by drivers, except with special devices. IS IT ENOUGH TO BE PROTECTIVE?
August 24. After receiving an Al-'Lottery'
email message, and looking again at my "Get-rich-quick'-carrot dangling daily promises webpage, I decided that what Al-Qaeda is, is one with no political affiliation identifiable.
My next webpage will be on communism and justice, and the favorable influences of my education. NO, there is nothing wrong with communism - it is simply an extreme of resource limitation, that allows for no gambling whatsoever. It is the group pooling of resources, to make
for new opportunities. In
Iraq, one hopes they can allocate the resource
they have below ground appropriately.. Financial
Times @ FT.com prints on August 23, that Iraq oil resources are for sale: "Western oil group eyes assets in Iraq".
August 19. A link regarding my cellular service (MEMORIAL DAY note) has been added, and the City
of Prose is now linked through the Red fox's den on the front page, as well as from the FAQ page
(as in July 4 note).
August 17.
An archival page has been added: http://mysite.verizon.net/resrkz6y/dvsswebsiteendgate/archival.html.
August 15. A Votes extension, page 3, has been added (see the City of
Prose). Two new pages of “Avoiding
computer viruses (human threats) and providing better care to your computer”, accessible from M-Y lane (top page link
at Construction News page). My Gateway laptop had a permanent stroke (and is
out of service). I am still trying to select a new internet-usable computer. In the meanwhile, internet access is $0.25/min.
August 5
note. More visitor notes. Please do not download these pages, currently.
Pages may be saved to pdf format, for temporary off-line viewing.
July 31 note. This website is not for
those who need to be in anonymity. No, I don't work for the CIA, and don't know personally anyone with CIA clearance
status (you know your favorite politicians running for office all have to pass these clearances) and I don't appreciate "security"
e-mail litter, i.e. "offers" intended to ENTRAP people, and tap their lines. I don't believe in an anonymous
government - paid for by the people. This website is not monitored -- Perhaps
an anonymous government is monitoring it?
A note for July 22-23. The “Meet the Yehs”
entrance has just been closed. Please note that this is a private webpage
with political content. These pages were not designed for those who feel that
politics are purely some accident of money, or for those who feel that humanitarian aid should
be delivered "TO ALL" independent of any political affiliation. It is
for activists. RECENTLY, IBD presented survey results on internet users -- it is unfortunately true, that economic online
use is limited to those who pass BY quickly....alarms are set off
by overlong use, like a stove left ON after cooking*. See my Paul
Bunyon's ditties webpage. *An internetted computer left unattended is a similar hazard.
July 18 - Please see the October 2003 Vanity
Fair issue, in support of the NYT July 8 editorial mentioned in the note (July 12 date) below. Please also see
the July 4 note. The Contact Me page has a new link below, added
on July 14.
July
14 - I have removed two articles of this week. Please write me with your name, and address if you wish to have a copy
mailed to you. Articles I have written, are removed when they can no longer be viewed in harmony with the
rest of the webpages I have up here, or easily seen (the context in which they were written). I refer you to the original articles of the NYT - Editorial section
of July 8, and TO the front cover of July 9.
A July 4th "weekend" note.
The wireless net is getting overcrowded for "celebration" events upcoming. Many links will be invisible (accessible
to those who have visited previously, primarily). THIS PAGE HAS ALSO BEEN REDESIGNED.
The "City of Prose" may now be accessed from the FAQ notes at the bottom.
A June 20 note (after a trip to Chicago and back, and SOPRANO spoofs).
Another
free service page to be added -- has accurate 411 service been lost?
New for June 4. A NOTE FOR PRINTING OUT
PAGES.
Please feel welcome to print for your own viewing. My webpages
were prepared for online reading primarily, and from time to time, I add notes, if not make corrections (often stylistic,
to allow addition of new PAGES).
New for Memorial Day weekend (May 26-28,
2007), a note regarding references. That which I have read, that inspires what
I am writing, usually makes it directly into the message. This past Thursday, I read an article in the "paper name",
date, entitled "article name", with a link, when available, I hope is a sufficient reference. If there are any questions,
please ask. I post only what I write on this website -- there is no plagarism, and [there are] no other authors.
For Memorial Day '07, I remember my cellphone, retired on March 2, 2007, officially, and on February
1, actually. There is another 'free service' message alert owed on this occasion, and it will be available soon.
[Link here].
New for May 11, 2007, is a note on printing out this website's
webpages. Occassionally there are updates from the original release -- usually notes added to the top of the page.
It is preferable, for future reference, to refer a link, or
to TAB a page for later viewing, than pass around pages
of the printed webpage. To NOTE DOWN A LINK, YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE THE WEBPAGE ADDRESS
[http://] from YOUR BROWSER.
New for April 27, 2007, is a
bumper sticker's viewing platform. See "In Progress"
link, from the Construction News page. Also,
"Pressed, We're Chlorinated" has been removed*, for ongoing decision-making concerning the war in Iraq.
*for current viewing - will be eventually archived, as below.
New for March 17, 2007, St. Patrick's Day, is a "date" note.
The "LAST UPDATED" feature indicates the last date that the entire website was updated, not necessarily the date of the article/page
you are reading. It is a task that will be included in a future site lookup table (in progress!).
-------------
If anything upsets you in viewing these pages, please let me
know.
These were created with the tools available to web occupiers,
wishing to use the artistic templates available. Therefore there are certain
placement limitations, as in the number of photos, spacings, etc. In the main, I’ve found that the
tools are very appropriate for Verizon’s DOMAIN (i.e., address/set of addresses).
The opinions expressed here are my own, and not intended to represent any agency, government,
or formal (officially organized) group. Currently,
there is no paid advertising represented here! What is posted
here is intended to be constructive,so if not perceivable that way (because of photo labeling errors, non-functional or incorrect
links (not yet detected!), or missing/canceled objects or text, please let me know. (Proceed via my ‘Contact Me’
page! on the navigation bar.)
I do not update pages in the morning [6 AM - 10 AM
] which may be the best viewing time, for the pages here. On the other hand, the afternoon, and owl hours of the evening (9 pm - 3 AM), is when
the webpage content is being updated usually, and difficulties may be experienced in reading the pages, if only due to changing
content, and 'limited parlour space'.
I have been updating content usually once per day, or minimally 3 times a week, although
there have been periods when outages (reduced access) have been experienced. These
problems should be noted on the ‘Home’ page or on the ‘Construction NEWS Room’ page. See also the bottom of the ‘City of Prose'
page.
