Knight's Checking Position

If the Knight can check the opponent's King on the move it is at Knight's Checking Position. This placement of the Knight is pregnant with possibilities. Anytime a Knight can move and check the opponent's King when moving--whether it be because the Knight is at the Knight's Checking Position or because the Knight's movement "Discovers" check--you have a position where all kinds of tactics can arise. Sometimes we can get our Knight into this position by moving the Knight with threat or by sacrificing our pieces. See the example below.

1.Nxe6 Qxc3 2.Nxe7+ Kh8 3.Nf7#
FEN="r4bkr/1pp3p1/p2qb2p/3n4/2B5/P2P1Q1P/1PP2PP1/R1B1R1K1 w - - 0 1"
To analyze this position on a computer chess program just copy the FEN code contained within the quotation marks and paste it to your program.
