Lasker Double Bishop Sacrifice

This is a very effective way of busting open your opponent's castled position. I have labled this a "Lasker Double Bishop Sacrifice after Emanuel Lasker who was the first to use this specific type of sacrifice. The game is given below as one of the example games. Other two Bishop sacrifices were done before Lasker's famous game but they were not a concerted attack that removed the "g" and "h" Pawns and opened up the King. "In order for this sacrifice to be successful you need a Bishop on the a1-h8 diagonal and another Bishop on the b1-h7 diagonal. The opponent's three Pawns that guard the castled King must be intact. You must be able to bring up your Queen and one other piece as quickly as possible. Usually the piece that is brought up is a Rook brought into play be means of a "Rook Lift" but this is not essential, a Knight or sometimes even a Pawn will do. To fully understand this sacrifice we present you with two example games and two game collections. Some of the games in the game collections may contain double Bishop sacrifices that may not be thematic "Lasker" sacrifices. This sacrifice theme possibility may occur in many different games of all opening types so be aware of the possibility. If the "h" Pawn is on "h6" and not "h7" you should consider the "Greco" or "Greek Gift" sacrifice. When should we use this sacrifice? If you are material ahead but do not have a clear win and this type of attack is possible, then you should consider it. If you have an equal game you may also want to consider this sac if possible. If you have a losing game you should also consider Lasker's Sac if the board allows it since it could turn the game around in your favor even if it is not technically "sound." Sometimes the surprise element will let you win a "lost" game. Always keep in mind that chess is a gambling game and as such while we do not throw our money away when we gamble we do have to be willing to lose in order to win.

MORE THAN 5000 AMERICAN LIVES WASTED IN THE WAR IN IRAQ.

Is our greed for oil worth it?

Ye hypocrites! are those your pranks?
To murder men and give God thanks!
Desist, for shame! – proceed no further;
God won’t accept your thanks for murder!
