The key to chess mastery is practice. There are some people who read
chess books and study principles, practices and variations but seldom play a
game, others who play often and study seldom. Ideally one should study as much
as possible and play as much as possible. Often in the course of our work-a-day
lives we don't get a chance to get to the chess club to play. Nonetheless we
can still play daily over the Internet or with a good chess computer. In addition to playing games we need to spend at least half an hour each day studying tactics in the form of diagrams. That is why I have placed a collection of chess books already loaded into a Java PGN reader. Many Franx thanx to Mychess for allowing me to use their reader. Try to find the correct moves yourself and then click the arrow buttons to find the correct answers. If you are the prime source of chess related products please contact me, I am interested in selling your items on my website. So far I have a great chess course that teaches what I preach, Patterns and Techniques. If you have a website let's exchange links! If you are a visitor to this site and would like to show support for this site as well as greatly improving your game, please do click the banner that sells this most interesting course. I am looking for ebooks, especially in PGN, PDF HTML or text format to post here. If you have any to send me please do, or send me the URL. Also does anyone have the password for DB books? Also I have a project for anyone who is interested. Would you care to go through the checkmate and combination books below and re-arrange the combinations into a more organized way, that is by pieces and/or by ideas and types of combinations. I don't have the time to do this right away but may get around to it someday. If you care to do it and send me the results, I will publish them on my site. Hopefully someone out there in internet land will care to help me with this as this is supposed to be an interactive site where we whoh seek to learn chess help one another. Also if someone into web design would contact me, I would appreciate help in redesigning this site. What you see now is just a small part of my vision for the entire website.
Important Notice
I have been receiving comments from some ignorant people complaining that I am violating copyrights by publishing these books on my website. I would like to emphasize that no copyrights have, in fact, been violated. As far as the PGN books are concerned, it is a fact that chess games and chess diagrams cannot be copyrighted. As far as the PDF books are concerned, most of those books are quite old and are therefore no longer covered by copyright. They are included here because although the books are old the materials they contain are still of interest--specifically chess puzzles and problems and basic instructional materials that explain the elementary principles of chess play. All other books fall in the Public Domain due to the fact that they are readily available throughout the internet. Under Common Law, if copyrighted material is widely distributed and the holder of the copyright makes no attempt to stop this distribution such works fall into the Public Domain. All of the materials published here have been collected from the internet where they are widely available. If the holder of the copyright of any of the books published here asks me to remove that book from my website, I will do so. Anyone else who objects to the publication of these books on this website is advised to get a life!
Here's an interesting idea, online coaching and game analysis. All you need is a friend and the two of you can show each other your games and even chat!
