Fuel Assistance

Beginning in November of 2008, Wellesley Friendly Aid will be processing applications for Wellesley residents under age 60 for the SMOC Fuel Assistance Program. (The Council on Aging will process applications for Wellesley residents age 60 and older.) Eligibility is based on total gross household income and the number of people in the household. Income guidelines are available; for example, for a household size of 3, the maximum gross annual income is $35,200.

Fuel Assistance Application Packets are available at the Wellesley Friendly Aid office at 219 Washington Street in Wellesley Hills. After the packet is completed and extensive documentation is assembled by the applicant, an appointment is required for a final application interview with the Wellesley Friendly Aid Director. At the conclusion of the interview, the final application is signed and sent to SMOC for their determination of eligibility. Families who qualify may also receive discounts for other utilities including phone and electric. For more information, please contact the Wellesley Friendly Aid office at 781-235-3960.
