The Tolkien Collector
APOLOGY
TO SUBSCRIBERS
We
apologize for the lack of a Tolkien Collector since December 2002. We had to set it aside while completing the 50th anniversary Lord of the Rings, The Lord of the Rings: A Reader's Companion, and The J.R.R. Tolkien Companion and Guide, as well as the proceedings of the 2004 Tolkien conference at Marquette University and a few other, smaller projects. We have also been delayed by Christina's unexpected heart surgery in 2006, by much-needed repairs to our house in 2007, by Christina's broken arm at the end of last year, and by the need to transfer files to different software for faster editing and printing.
We are now preparing, simultaneously, two numbers of the Tolkien Collector (nos. 27 and 28), which we intend to publish in September 2008. We will then turn our attention to rebuilding our stock of back issues. Current paid subscriptions will continue according to the rate that applied at the time of payment. New and renewing subscribers, however, should be advised that we will probably have to adjust subscription rates in future to allow for increases in postage that have occurred since the end of 2002.

The
Tolkien Collector is an occasional magazine for collectors of
J.R.R. Tolkien. Each issue, usually 32 pages, includes news about
new and forthcoming books by and about Tolkien, translations of
Tolkien's works, recordings, videos, and other Tolkieniana; and feature articles on aspects of collecting
Tolkien and Tolkien bibliography.
New subscription rates are pending. Please do not send any payment until we work out what these will be. Subscriptions
must be paid in U.S. dollars or the equivalent in British pounds
sterling (converted according to the exchange rate published in
newspaper business sections, as of the date of payment). Please

orders must be prepaid. Dollar cheques must be drawn on a U.S. bank;
payment in British pounds must be by cheque drawn on a U.K. bank.

Back issues are not currently available, but we will be replenishing our stock. Prices per issue are pending.
