Lord Corydon Weatherby Cranston, Governor of Canguine

Lord Corydon

Physical Description

The portrait above was recently commissioned by Lord Cranston's family, the artist having been instructed to replace the left eye and omit the long scar from the wound suffered in battle with pirates. His height is slightly above average, and his build moderate. Lord Cranston is not normally given to fancy attire and prefers simple garb with freedom of movement and subtle ornamentation. He often wears a cloak.

Background

Second son of the Marquess of Cranwydd, who is one of Elaine’s Knights, Corydon is now Crawydd's heir and Earl of Sloughford since the death of his brother, Henry. At a young age, Corydon served Elaine’s cause during the succession “wars,” as a courier. Later, he served as Third Officer on the Valourous during the battle against the Castillian Armada. He survived the Valourous sinking at the hands of pirates and lived abroad for several years, only returning after news of his brother’s death had reached Avalon, and the Marquess demanded Corydon’s return. Since his return, according to rumor, he has occupied his time rather frivolously, undistinguished in any sort of service to family or crown. He has recently received an appointment as governor of Canguine.

Lord Corydon's story begins in A Queen's Task.
