 Printing

 Colour

Printing in colour is one of the most exacting aspects of printing, adding in matters of ink formulation, order, colour calibration and representation as well as trapping and registration---and that's just for process (CMYK, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and blacK). Spot colour has its own peculiar difficulties, especially given the limited representations and manipulations which are all-too typical with desktop publishing programs. Interestingly, Thomas Carrier invented air conditioning to improve the consistency and quality of colour printing.
..... Listed below are texts on various aspects of printing in colour which I've found of use or interest.
