My style is relaxed and easy going with an effort towards not having to
rely too heavily on props and poses. My goal is to capture who you are,
not just a reflection of what you look like. I want each portrait to
capture your personality. I prefer to work with natural
light during the summer months or whenever possible but must also rely
on indoor lighting equipment with the coming of winter. All photographs are taken in
color, though all my work is presented in black and white. Should you
desire color or sepia portraits as well as black and white with your set
of proofs, please be sure to specify this when you make your
appointment. Booking
a session
We will go over location, clothing suggestions, sentimental objects you
may want to use from home and what the overall result you want to
achieve with your portrait.
Session fees are due upon booking your appointment in order that your
date may be reserved. Check the pricing page for details.
Locations
There are many beautiful locations in the area that I can suggest, or
you can suggest some of your own. Please note that on-location sessions
are scheduled for weekends only.
One of my favorite locations for families is their own home.
We are able to move freely between indoors and outdoors, and often times environmental
backdrops are the best. Winter is no exception.
Indoor sessions are also available in my home. This allows me to have
the available equipment that is needed for those times when outdoor
portraits are not possible or lighting situations are not ideal.
Maternity and Newborn Sessions
Time-sensitive sessions such as Maternity and Newborns should be
scheduled well in advance to ensure an available date. I suggest booking
these sessions at least 6 weeks in advance. I suggest Maternity
Portraits to be timed around the 34th -36th week. This ensures that we
can capture that beautiful glow, your new curves, and the emotional
anticipation of the final weeks.
Newborn Sessions should be booked before your baby is 4 weeks old.
Babies older than this tend to lose those newborn qualities I strive to
capture ~ the tiny wrinkles, the lines around the eyes, and the ability
to fold into impossible positions. These are the moments that I want to
help you preserve and remember.
Post-Session Information
Once we have finished your session, the exciting work of choosing and
editing your final proofs begins. Approximately two weeks from your
session date, I will provide you with an online gallery of your proofs.
This will allow you to view your session images several days before your
Ordering Session. You may share your gallery with anyone you choose, and
even take orders from family that may want portraits as well (all orders
taken will count towards your total print order, and towards earning
your beautiful, hardcover Album!). At your Ordering Session we will go
over your order, and answer any questions you may have. Full payment is
due before the order can be placed, and can be paid by check. Your prints will arrive
approximately two weeks after your order has been placed. Once they arrive, I will call to set up
a time to deliver your prints!
Cancellations
The Session Fee is due upon booking your session date, and is non-refundable. If you need
to cancel or reschedule your session, please give as much notice as possible so that I may
offer the date to another client. Rescheduled appointments must be held
within a month of the original session date to avoid any additional
fees. |
