Fall 2009 Family Picnic and Fox Hunt, Sunday 10/11/2009

The Eastside Outdoor Ham Club was created with an emphasis on doing radio outdoors, with as much de-emphasis as possible on business meetings, dues, administrative tasks, and equipment acquisition/maintenance. In fact, our constitution limits us to one business meeting per year and forbids a club treasury. Our goal is to fill a niche within the area's amateur community in providing operating activities for local hams (and having a fun time doing it).

A lot of the Club's operating activities are centered on RDF (radio direction finding), or fox hunting as it's known to hams, with International style foot hunts and mobile hunts as well. We also head out "to the park!" on a regular basis with mini-fieldday operations, and as the code skill of our membership improves, we have been doing more QRP and CW operations. We also host frequent "group build" sessions of projects that may enable or enhance our favorite activities. However, our activities are only limited to the desire of the membership.

Most all planning, discussion, analysis and announcement of our activities are conducted on the Eastside Listserver. You can read the latest postings in The Eastside Archives.

Membership in the Eastside Outdoor Ham Club is limited to licensed amateurs with residence where the sun rises on the eastside. Participation (whenever you can/want to make it) is the only requirement to maintain membership. However, we welcome participation from the public in our activities and strongly encourage non-hams to give us the chance to convert them into hams.
