THE CASTER/CASTOR FAMILY

I haven't done any research on this family, and have seen the name spelled both with an e and with an o. Some researchers say the original name was Kuster or Custer. Our ancestor is supposedly Martha Caster of Emmitsburg, Maryland (although I have not been able to confirm the latter) who Married Jacob S. Peterman in Emmitsburg, Maryland on 4 January 1814. Jacob served in the military a short time during the War of 1812. Martha filed a pension claim in the 1870's.
