Much of the Williamson genealogy is contained in the "Green" book written by Robert Green, Jr. Additional information was compiled by Roy Lee Peterman.
The first factual history of the Williamsons comes from the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization, Justice Department, Washington, D. C. Here may be found records of five Williamsons by the names of James, John, Joseph, William and Annie dated July 25, 1635, stating that these five sailed into the Chesapeake Bay and down the Potomac River to Harper's Ferry. The family had come to the colonies seeking adventure which was not to be found in the Williamson home (Kent Hall) in England. The biggest praise bestowed on these five came from the government records which stated; "They had an element of manhood far above the average, and they were the most fearless, robust men that ever landed in America." The above statement may be found at the Ohio State Library, in Columbus, Ohio. A John Williamson was born around 1715. One of his brothers was Hugh Williamson who was born in Pennsylvania, a doctor and good friend of Benjamin Franklin. He joined Franklin in several electrical experiments. Hugh later moved to North Carolina and became a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and signed the Constitution. He was a member of congress from 1790 to 1793 and later moved to New York. His nephew Colonel Hugh Williamson (by some accounts he is referred to as David), was in command of the Moravian Indian Massacre at Gnadenhutten, Tuscarawas County, Ohio in 1782. John II Williamson married Peggy Annon, the daughter of General Joseph Annon of Ireland. They had tree sons and later came to Johnstown Ohio. John II's name appears on 1800 Berkely County assessment records. He assessed 160 acres to Peter in 1789. Peter married Rebecca Green, the daughter of Reginal Green, Sr. in 1780. Peter was an indian fighter and survivor of St. Clair's defeat. He bought 100 acres in 1806 and moved his family to this farm two miles South of Johnstown, Ohio where he was laid to death with his wife after their death. Peter's son Joseph Annon Williamson was born on August 31, 1804 and died on March 16, 1899. He was thought to have had about twenty-two children. His first wife was Sophie Randolph who bore him eight children. His second marriage was to Rachel Hartsock in 1848. she was born on April 1, 1828 and died June 15, 1921. They raised nine children, one of whom - Angeline, married William Dague. They are the parents of Blanche Vesta Dague Peterman, and four other children before Angeline's death.

WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON6 DAGUE (ANGELINA REBECCA5 WILLIAMSON,

Near Latty; Paulding Co., OH age 42. He married CORA L. WOOTEN. She was born Abt. 1895, and died Bet. 1934 - 1984.
Notes for WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON DAGUE:
Obituary Paulding Co. Republic Newspaper Thursday
August 5, 1934, page 5
Former Mayor of Latty dies
William H. Dague, 42, died at his home
Southwest of Latty on Thursday, July 26th, after a long illness of heart
trouble. Of his immediate family, he is survived by his wife and seven children
the oldest being not yet twenty. For a number of years he resided in Latty
where he was employed by the Nickel Plate as car inspector and was elected
mayor of the village in 1921 by a large majority. It was during his
administration that the bond issue for electric lights in the village of Latty
was put through and Bill, as he was known to his constituents and large circle
of friends, was a hard worker for and it was largely through his efforts that
the considerable opposition to the improvement was put down and electric lights
in Latty became a reality in the fall of 1922. In 1923, having lost his job
through a strike the year previously, he resigned the mayorship and moved his
family to Fort Wayne where he was employed by the mechanical department of the
Nickel Plate until some six or seven years ago his health forced him to give up
the employment and he with the family moved to what is known as the Elijah
Carmean place Southwest of Latty where they have since resided. Funeral
services were conducted from the Blue Creek church on Monday being delayed to
await the hoped arrival of his oldest son, Kenneth G. Dague, who is a member of
the CCC and located in Yosemite Park, California. The boy failed to make
connections in time to arrive for the funeral and the reamins laid in state at
the Crowell Funeral Home In Paulding a few days until his arrival before
interment at Blue Creek.

Gideon Williamson Dies In Columbus Friday
Afternoon
Gideon Williamson (another article had it as
George G.), 59, who until recently was a resident of Johnstown, was found dead
Friday afternoon in his parked automobile at the Franklin pumping station of
the Ohio Fuel Gas co., Wilson road, Columbus, where he was employed. When the
4:30 crew came on duty Friday p.m. they found him slumped in his car and found
that a hose had been attached to the exhaust pipe. The inhalator squad was
called, but efforts to save him were vain. Coroner Edward Smith of Franklin
Co., returned a verdict of suicide, due to despondncy over the death of his
wife, Nellie Priest Williamson, last August, and the probable fate of his son,
Sgt. Sidney George Williamson. Shortly before the death of Mrs. Williamson the
family were advised that Sgt. Williamson was officially listed as "missing
in action" following the fall of Corregidor." Mr. Williamson's death
could well be termed a tragic aftermath of the war. He was born near Johnstown
and lived near here during the early part of his married life. He was an
employee of the Ohio Fuel Gas Co. at the old pumping station at Greenbush on
the Utica pike. Following the removal of the station he remained in the
employment of the company and was with them for 35 years. Several years ago, he
and Mrs. Williamson returned to Johnstown and resided in the old Andrew Priest
home on West Coshocton street, expecting to make this their permanent home. He
was a member of the Masonic lodge of Johnstown. he is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Philip Norris of Johnstown, Mrs. Philip Shaffer of Columbus, and Mrs.
Doris graven of Millersburg; eight grandchgildren; three sisters, Mrs. Tillie
Kasson of johnstown, Mrs. Estelle Butt of Newark, and Mrs. Bertha Elbon of East
Liverpool; one brother, Albert Williamson of Columbus. Funeral services were
held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Paul S. Emerson and Son funeral home.
Rev. T. E. Maness of Johnstown, Methodist Church was the officiating minister;
and burial was made in Green Hill Cmetery at Johnstown. Johnstown Center Lodge
No. 86, F. & A. M. of which Mr. Williamson was a member, held their
ritualistic service Sunday afternoon at the Emerson funeral home, 25 Masons
attended in a body.

Sgt. G. S.
Williamson Succumbs In Jap Prison Camp
Johnstown, July
14.-Mrs. Philip Norris of West Coshocton Street, Johnstown, received word from
the war department monday that her brother, SGT George Sidney Williamson, had
died in the Philippine Islands while a prisoner of the japs. Sgt. Williamson,
who would have clebrated his 25th birthday anniversary july 21, had been listed
as a Japanese prisoner in May, 1942. Following the fall of Corregidor he was
listed as "missing in action."
Sgt. Williamson was
the son of the late Nellie (Priest) Williamson and George Giddeon Williamson of
Johnstown. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force in September of 1938. A year
later he volunteered for foreign service and left for the Philippine Islands in
June of 1939. At the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, he was stationed at
Clark Field, Fort Statsenburg, Luzon. Although information is incomplete, it is
believed he survived the battle of Bataan and Corregidor and was captured following
the fall of Corregidor when the island of Mindano was taken. He was graduated
from Nashville high school in 1936. It was a few years later his parents moved
to Johnstown. Surviving besides Mrs. Phillip (Mildred) Norris of Johnstown, are
two other sisters, Mrs. Edith Shafer of Columbus and Mrs. Doris Raxen of
Millersburg. This information raised the casualty list of Licking County to 27.
