Issue 3 - July 1993

Hello Again!

It seems as if the combination of uncertainty over the new rules and a "local" NARAM have contributed to a particularly slow summer. After the rush of getting in the '92-'93 results, its been quite slow getting started for late summer and fall meets. I hope once you all recover from NARAM, you'll be flying a bunch of meets this fall. Thanks to all of the CDs out there for contributing to an active and successful year for the Northeast Region.

Enclosures

Enclosed with this mailing you will find the text of the rules revisions for the 1993-94 season. A copy of this should be printed in an upcoming issue of AmSpam, but I've made a copy for your convenience.

I have also enclosed a new meet sanction form. It has a few minor changes to reflect the new sanction fee (five dollars for all types of meets) and the current types of NAR meets. I think you will find it a bit easier to use.

Multi-Wing Glider WFs

With the new rules revisions, there was a major change made to event weighting factors. This is listed in the enclosed article. I distributed a set of additions and corrections to these numbers recently. Ed LaCroix posted a similar listing on Compuserve on June 30. There was a discrepancy in the weighting factors for Multi-Wing Gliders. The set of numbers which I distributed are being adopted as the "official" numbers. To reiterate, I have listed the correct numbers below.

Over the past year, I've found that my expenses have exceeded meet sanction fees. Hopefully the new fee structure will fix this. In an attempt to limit expenses, I am trying to limit mailings to one active Contest Director per NAR Section. I have listed these CD contacts below.
