was with the 12th HHC during 1968.
"I came through the 12th HHC
on my way to my next duty station. While I was sitting on a bunk, a guy
came through the hootch and asked if anybody knew how to play softball.
I said I did, so he grabbed me up and away we went. I played so good
that day that I was asked if I would like to stay. Well, that was a no
brainer! My MOS was changed from aircraft mechanic to grunt. So I
played softball and flag football and was head of the security platoon.
