Howard was with the 12th HHC from May 1966 to April 1967. He was
in Personnel as the Special Orders Clerk and after promotion to SP5,
as Special Order NCO. Howard now resides in Houston, TX.

These 3 photos & the 1 below  were taken at Christmas 1966. We received a Red Cross "care package" from a ladies group in New England. It had these blue caps. We turned them around )so the bill was in the back or to the side) and made "blue berets" (a play on "green berets")

We employed wives, daughters, dependents of Vietnamese Army personnel as cleanup people in the hootches. The women would sweep the hootches, make our beds, shine our boots and wash our clothes. The old men would burn the latrine waste.
