Feel free to submit any Questions or Comments
regarding anything on this site especialy the model boat. We did leave out a considerable amount of detail on the boat in an effort to keep this site as practical as possible. We would be glad to share information on things like materials, glue, paint, tools, fixtures, ect.

We Started out with 1940's plans. Click here or the picture with Flight on top of this page to see the details. You can download the file to your computer and print out the plan. The plans are much easier to read printed out.
The plans are for a 19 foot 6 inch or so full size boat. We scaled down the details to .16 which produces a 37 1/2 inch long boat.
After carefully laying out the individual pieces on white paper, we used spray glue over the wood, layed the paper on the wood and cut most everything out with a band saw following the lines drawn on the paper. This proved to be quite accurate.
The materials are mainly mahogany and oak. Although the model took a tremendous amount of material (much more than you would think) we did have enough scraps without having to purchase anything.
After building this model boat from scratch, we can now see why the kits are so expensive.
Come back later and see many more final pictures. We will have break downs of the electric outboard motor during maintainance.

We made an enclosure on wheels.

Over time, moving the Model Boat around became difficult without the potential of damaging the unit .
In addition, we needed storage for a few essential items.
Things like, Batteries, Transmitter, spare parts, a few tools.
