This railing started out in straight pieces. The railing sections came from an old church. The sections where salvaged and stored
until the home owner came up with the idea to surround an outdoor hot tub.
Straight sections before modification
Cuts along the railing then welded allowed us to form the curve
We added feet with mounting pads where needed
A little detail added at the entrance to the tub
We added a small gate in the rear for another access
We started out by looking at the sections
one at a time taking notice of any special details or bad spots. We then took inventory of how much usable railing was available
along with the number of scroll details. The next step was to measure what was needed to surround the tub. We divided up the
scroll details putting two side by side at the entrance to the tub. We made a few strategic cuts to allow for even
spacing of the remaining scrolls. It turned out we had just enough material. The couple of rotted out spots where cut around.
So we got lucky.
The gate hinges where made simple . The gate is almost invisible.
