General Instructions for Viewing Files

"USFS Volunteer Schedules" are stored in two formats: Microsoft EXCEL and PICTURE files. "Messages and Special Announcements" are stored both as Microsoft WORD documents and as PICTURE files. If your system can't display either the MS WORD or MS EXCEL documents, try retrieving the PICTURE images of these same files. If you can't retrieve or view any of these types of files, please notify Phil Benefiel via email at the following email address:  WPBENEFIEL@QNET.COM .

Special note pertaining to the viewing of PICTURE images:   If you have Internet Explorer versions 6* or 7*, the Picture image may appear on your screen in less than full resolution and be hard to read.   This is because these versions of Internet Explorer automatically compress pictures so that they fit within the screen.

* To disable this feature in version 7, move your mouse cursor over the picture and it will assume the shape of a small magnifying glass with a "plus sign" (i.e. "+") within it.   Single LEFT click on the picture and the image will change to full resolution.

* To disable this feature in version 6, move your mouse cursor over the picture for a few moments and the following two "gadgets" will show up:

First in the left upper corner of the picture . . .

and second in the right lower corner of the picture.

Merely single LEFT click on the second "gadget" in the lower right corner (i.e. the one which is colored orange) and your picture will appear in full resolution.

(NOTE:   If you have trouble making the above two "gadgets" appear (version 6), move your mouse cursor off of the PICTURE image for a moment, then move it back over the picture and leave it there for several seconds.   The first "gadget" should appear . . . followed shortly by the second "gadget."   If you have trouble making the "small magnifying glass" appear (version 7), move your mouse cursor off of the PICTURE image for a moment, then move it back over the picture.   The "small magnifying glass" should appear almost instantly.)
