1966 - Los Angeles. In 1966, Bruce Lee and his family moved to Los Angeles. During the next few years, Lee landed bit parts in films and T.V. series. After the cancellation of the Green Hornet in 1967, Lee supplemented the family income by giving private martial arts lessons at up to $250 an hour. Lee's student roster included Hollywood heavy weights such as Steve McQueen, James Coburn, James Garner, Lee Marvin, Roman Polanski, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who later appeared in Game of Death. 1970-1971 - Los Angeles. Bruce Lee works with actor James Coburn and screenwriter Stirling Silliphant on a screenplay about the philosophy of the martial arts entitled The Silent Flute. Coburn, Silliphant, and Lee go to India intent on filming, but the trip ends in disaster when Coburn screams at Lee for constantly humming pop songs. Crushed, Lee again shakes his fist and vows revenge, but The Silent Flute is abandoned. In 1987 The Silent Flute is re-titled Circle of Iron and released starring David Carradine. July 31, 1973 - Seattle. Bruce Lee is laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery. His pallbearers are friends and students, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Dan Inosanto, Peter Chin, Taky Kimura, and his younger brother, Robert Lee. Other interesting facts about James Coburn
