Hey Y'all, Dave Lavender here, author and survivor of the family-fueled travel book, "Dave Trippin: A Day Tripper's Guide to the Appalachian Galaxy of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia." IN WEST VIRGINIA LIVING: "Dave Trippin" was one of the featured book reviews in the new "West Virginia Living" magazine. The Spring issue of "WV Living" is now out and also contains a really nice piece on "Living in Huntington" by author, artist and activist, Carter Taylor Seaton. IN PORTSMOUTH DAILY TIMES: The Portsmouth paper did a full-page spread on our upcoming Dave Trippin presentation at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 23 to the Scioto County Rotary Club at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth. MORE PORTSMOUTH SIGNINGS: Dave and Toril will be back in Portsmouth from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at the Portsmouth Public Library, which is located at 1220 Gallia Street in Portsmouth. BACK @ BORDERS: Over the holidays, we sold out of Dave Trippin at most area outlets including Empire Books and News and Borders. We're back at Borders to do a book-signing before Spring Break from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4. ON MILLER IN THE MORNING: "Dave Trippin" was featured recently on the airwaves on Bob and Judy in the Morning on a radio station just east of Lexington, Dave will be chilling with Huntington morning show guru, J.B. Miller, as a guest of "Miller in the Morning" at 7:30 a.m. Friday, April 10 on Magic, 97.9-FM. We'll be giving away some books, and giving listeners some great ideas for cool spring and summer getaways. SOME PROPS TO MOPS: Dave and Toril recently did their multi-media presentation, handed out free Tri-State Family magazines and book-signing for the MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group at First Baptist Church in Russell, Ky. TRI-STATE FAMILY COVER: Dave and Toril have teamed up to do the April spring travel cover story and photos for Tri-State Family magazine. DOWNTOWN WALKING TOUR: At 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, Dave will be leading Herald-Dispatch employees on the three-mile history walk of Downtown Huntington. If you would like to take the walk, go online at www.herald-dispatch.com and click onto Downtown Walking Tour. |
