Business meetings are held twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. Our council hosts a large number of activities throughout the year. Annual activities include: Clergy Appreciation Dinner, Christmas Party, Day of Recollection, Installation Dinner, and the Baccalaureate Mass. Other regular activities: Quarterly Road Clean-up, Semiannual Pond Maintenance, and other assistance at the parish's request. We conduct a Soccer Shootout for the kids, support the parish's Adopt-A-Family program for Christmas, sell Christmas cards and car raffle tickets, collect funds for charity, and run the parish's Lenten Soup and Stations program, among many other activities. Installation of Council Officers The St. Francis of Assisi Council will install our officers on Saturday, August 15 at 6:30 p.m. A pot-luck social and short program will follow the formal installation. Please join us for a fun evening! Contact Bob Burnett by phone at 410-381-5752 for details and to volunteer an entree, salad, or other dish. Incentive Raffle We will be selling Incentive Raffle tickets before and after each Mass from late August through early October at St. Francis, and wherever else we can. Tickets are priced at $1 each, or six for $5. Tickets will be drawn at the Columbus Day Ball, October 10, at La Fontaine Bleu in Glen Burnie. The prize this year is a 2010 Ford Mustang. Soccer Shootout We encourage all parish youth, girls and boys, under-6 to 18 years of age, to participate in the yearly Knights Soccer Shootout competition. This year's council competition will be held at the parish picnic on September 13 at APL. Winners qualify to compete at the District level and at the State level. The age groups for competition are 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. Contact Charlie Blandford, 410-720-5420, for more information. Habitat for Humanity Our first quarterly project for community building in the 2009-2010 fraternal year with Habitat for Humanity will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Once again, we will be helping out in southwest Baltimore. Contact GK Rich Tucci for more information. Newsletter Our Grand Knight Rich Tucci could use a few good folks to help put together the council newsletter. Please lend a hand! Photo Albums Council Historian Glenn Rolph has done a great job putting together photo albums of some recent activities, both formal and otherwise, in which our Knights have been involved. Check them out here.
