Webster's Dictionary describes Abstract Art as" not representing things realistically". I found the explanation rather inappropriate. Abstract Art on the contrary, opens the mind up to perceive things a thousand ways. The artist informs through a synthesis of structures and colors, redefines reality in simple clarification. It is a continued quest, in my paintings, to create new dialogues to bridge my inner and exterior world. Abstract painting sets me free and allows me to dwell beyond the ordinary and enter a realm of the unknown.
In the 2001-02 series of abstract watercolor paintings I explore, a landscape consists of basic vertical and horizontal elements. A parallel to the fundamental physics - up, down, left, right and all that goes in between. 2003 series marks a liberation to free styles and forms again.
