How To Restore Your Mustang

This is an excellent reference. Some of the sections on dealing with body part reconditioning are especially helpful. There is a wealth of photography snapped during actual restoration work, which I find invaluable. This book was loaned to me two years ago and I'm not yet ready to return it.

Mustang Restoration Handbook

This book is superb. Itgave me the courage to tackle the rebuild on the front power steering assembly, no small feat. There is material in here, gleaned from Ford manuals, that make it a quick and easy reference. These guys take complex restoration tasks and reduce them to step by step simplicity.

Tom Brownell

How To Restore Your Collector Car

I had more fun reading this book than any of the others. It covers all aspects of restoring any old car with a strong focus on the skills and tools necessary to complete the task. This one book got me started, got me enrolled in a High School Welding Class and got me buying real tools. If you have any doubts about trying to tackle a project, this book will put them to rest.
(Out of print but worth letting Amazon.Com search for it)

Mustang Weekend Projects

Here is a book filled with fun, short term projects aimed at improving the car in short order. So many times it's hard to get enthused about a project that is taking literally years to complete. The prospect of tackling a major job can be self-defeating. This book is just the ticket to get back into the one step at a time mindset that is often needed. When the doldrums hit, I look to this book for inspiration.

Mustang 64 1/2-70 Restoration Guide

This is a flat out historical work on the first three incarnations of the Mustang. Want to know what the distributor in your car really is? This book will tell you, as well as what should be in there. From spark plugs to body trim, you will learn about your car. This is a must have reference.

Greg Donahue / Paul Zazarine

How To Restore Your Muscle Car

While not Mustang specific, I recommend this book to anyone doing a restoration. It is geared towards the concourse level restoration and will show you how to do it "right". It is a massive tome (over 350 pages) with hundreds of great photos and an index of references at the back worth the price of admission.

Mustang Weekend Projects 2

This is a book of maintenance and repair how-tos for 1968 to 1970 Mustangs. It is my most recent acquisition and just the information I've found on the infamous and ever maligned Autolite 4300 Carburetor, (I have one on my car), makes me glad I purchased it. There is also a detailed outline on how to transform a Ford 9-inch open differential into a "posi" unit for only $100 and a little wrenching on your part. I found this intriguing . Many other useful and informative sections make it a welcome addition to my library.

There are two compilations, which are also quite helpful. Mustang Restoration Tips and Techniques by Hot Rod Magazine and The Best of Mustang Monthly-Resto How-To. A Ford Service Manual for your particular year is indispensable.

Title Personal Impressions
Every Great Motown Song (First 25 Years)

How about some "Sweet Soul Music" to go with that sixties state of mind you get when working on your ride. This Collection really does it for me. It takes me back to a time when I used to go Mustang hunting in my '65 Dodge Dart GT. With my girl propped up between the bucket seats, there were a few times I wished I hadn't been so successful in locating my Blue Oval Nemesis. Click the album cover or title to listen to some great soul cuts and to order order your copy at a great price.

Legendary Hot Rod Hits

This set is rife with Classic Car Cuts from the likes of artists such as The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Dick Dale & The Deltones, Duane Eddy, and Ronny and the Daytonas. Songs like "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena", "GTO", "Drag City", "Little Deuce Coup", "Dead Man's Curve", and "Hey Little Cobra", set this three disc package apart as a definitive musical anthology of the genre. Just click the discs or title.

l Rubber Soul

It would be impossible to explore the music of the era with out including the songs of the Beatles. I chose this album because it was the first one that had songs on it that made me feel that this was a group capable of producing more than just "Bubblegum Music". The music was all over the AM Radio and was, to me, infectious. Hit the title or cover for a chance to hear the cuts for yourself.
