School, that's what. Studying really cuts into my knitting time. Ok, I have been sick too. That really cuts into my studying
time. In the last month I had a cold, then sinusitus, then the sinuses were infected, then there was the excruciatingly painful
spiderbite and now I am on another cold.
So did I knit at all? Yes, just today I finished some sock "slippers" for Dennis.
I used Cascade 220 and knit toe-up socks to his foot measurement (instead of with a negative ease) so that he could
wear them over another pair of socks. (That is, his beloved Tube Socks.)
So, they are really meant to be a pair of slippers. Because contrary to the weather of the last couple of days, it rarely
gets cold enough for a pair of woolen socks made of worsted weight. However, with a freakish daytime temperature hovering
around freezing and 20 mph winds blowing out of the Gorge, today was a perfect day to finish his slippers and christen
them "socks." They are sure to accompany him on his next trip outdoors, should that happen again before Sunday morning
when the temperature should be as high as 45 degrees!
