D and I went to see Yarn Harlot tonight! She is so funny. At first, she did look scared stepping up to the microphone;
but she really seemed relaxed after she started talking about knitting.
There were so many people! I would have thought that the folks at
Powell's would have recalled how many people were at Yarn Harlot's book signing last time, how many books they sold at that, and then
added in how much her popularity has increased since the first book. Well, they must not have done the math, because they
stuffed her out in southeast in
Powell's Home & Garden. There was less seating and the room itself was smaller than the
Pearl Room downtown, where she was last year.
Did I mention this Home and Garden store also closed earlier? Yarn Harlot was done speaking at 8:30 and the Powell's
people wanted to parade us through her signing line by 9 pm so they could close on time. Hmmm... I wonder how that went?
We left early without getting a signed book. The line was way too outrageous. The real joy was hearing her talk
and tell her funny stories in person!
