At last, the pictures of the DYING!
I had never been much of an artist type. I've been taught that when you paint, you can just start playing with color
and the rules don't matter, it just makes sense. Watercolor, in particular, I've heard is a great way to explore color. Uh-huh.
Not so much.
Now dying yarn - that was my first experience being enthralled by color. We started setting up on December 24 at noon.
By midnight, we had dyed 12 skeins of yarn!
Purples, greens, and other jeweltones are my favorites so I dyed these laceweights:
D did this gorgeous blend of colors. (Worsted weight, I think.)
We also did some space-dying.
Here are the two space-dyed (everything sounds cooler when you put "space" in front of it) and another hand-paint in
sock weight:
Something about mixing the colors and seeing the surprises really made me come alive. I can't wait to dye some more!
